What to expect from an Equine Behaviourist

An initial consultation will be carried out at your yard. This consultation will involve the completion of a case history form that will highlight your horses management, exercise programme, medical history and some details regarding what you, as the owner, wish to achieve. This allows for a clearer indication of what might be the cause behind your horses behavioural problems. Any immediate changes/recommendations will be discussed at the end of the consultation.

in a large variety of cases, small tweaks to management or the diagnosis and treatment of an underlying physical problem may be all that is required to reduce the prevalence of your horses behavioural problem. However, in some cases, training may be needed. In these instances if you wish to go ahead with training, a bespoke full training plan will be provided in an introductory training session. During this session not only will the training plan be explained fully, but your horse will undergo his first training session with you under my guidance. This ensures that you feel comfortable to continue training in the most effective way possible. After this introductory training session, if you require any advice/help do feel free to contact me via phone, text or email. In person follow up training sessions/visits are available at an additional cost.

An optional detailed written report regarding your horses behavioural problem, possible hypotheses, the training plan and any relevant scientific research can be provided.
